Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 5, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how GlutenFreeBCN uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage) on glutenfreebcn.com. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make sites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to site operators. "Similar technologies" include browser localStorage, sessionStorage, pixels, and device identifiers — all of which can perform comparable functions.
2. How GlutenFreeBCN Uses These Technologies
2.1 Strictly necessary — localStorage
We store the following keys in your browser's localStorage to power Site features. This data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
sg_likes— aggregate like-counts per place, so the "Most Liked" sort works on your device.sg_user_likes— the set of place IDs you have personally liked, so we can highlight your votes and prevent double-likes.
You can clear this data at any time from your browser settings. Doing so will reset your likes.
2.2 Analytics — Vercel Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate visitor behavior. Vercel Analytics is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies; it counts page views without tracking individuals across sessions or websites.
2.3 Advertising — Google AdSense (when active)
When advertising is enabled on the Site, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies and use device identifiers to:
- Serve ads relevant to your interests.
- Limit how many times you see the same ad.
- Measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns.
- Detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's own privacy and cookie policies. You can manage your ad personalization preferences at adssettings.google.com, and you can opt out of third-party advertising cookies via the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org and the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info.
Advertising may not be active on the Site at all times. When it is not active, no advertising cookies are set by us.
3. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings. You can also block cookies by default. Note that blocking all cookies may affect some Site features.
4. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no universally accepted standard for how sites should respond to DNT, so we currently do not respond to DNT signals. We minimize tracking by default, as described above.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
